Imagine a beautiful quirky woman, a smart enigmatic man, piano music in the background. Now they are surrounded by totally boisterous bunch of funny women and two cute yet nosy high school kids & an amicable second hero. Well that’s the Korean drama dodososollalasol for you!
This Netflix original has an unusual casting in Go Ara as the beautiful yet totally unpredictable heroine and Lee jae-wook as the helpful yet enigmatic hero. Kim Joo-hun sparkles as usual, as the second lead.
It starts off as a simple & rather typical storyline. Go Ara is a naïve rich heiress & piano graduate, for whom Lee jae-wook ends up delivering the bride’s bouquet on her D-day. They part ways after the brief meeting. Things take an unexpected and funny twist after their meeting. Go Ara’s wedding gets called off and she is suddenly penniless. The story begins in full swing when she bumps into Lee jae-wook and Kim Joo-hun again…this time in a hospital.
It is the story telling that makes it different! It is filled with simple and cute moments. You have the most unexpected dialogues being spilled out by the cast and with such conviction, that makes this a thorough rom-com. Even the most serious and tense moments have their share of comedy and that’s a true feat by the makers.
The story has a good share of all elements of a drama- there is drama, sorrow, suspense, romance. The makers have created a strong well etched support cast, melodious piano music and loads of simple comedy.
As a viewer you will enjoy the support cast as much as you will adore the unconventional three main leads. The story towards the second half will surprise you. It’s a reverse twist and you would have never anticipated it. (I am not spilling the beans 😊 yet)Another new is the cute Pomeranian dog in this series; (she is Go-Ara’s inseparable dog) is undoubtedly one of the cutest dogs on TV. She is so cutely dolled up in the drama; it is hard not to fall for her.
